Spiritual Emphasis Theme

Each year we select a spiritual theme tied to a certain scripture verse or passage. We use the theme to unify our chapels and class devotions. One year, for example, Ephesians 6 provided the text for putting on the armor of God with our theme of “Be Strong.” Another year we used the well-known passage from Philippians 4 with the theme of “Whatever…” and explored what it means to be true, noble, pure, etc. This year our theme is “The Parables of Jesus,” and we have been using various parables to teach our students what it means be instructed with a story and then to live out their faith - “Take it in; live it out.” Many of our students wear T-shirts that have the themes proudly displayed.

Prayer & Praise Email Distribution

DCS family and friends have the opportunity to support our school through prayer. Using our website we keep our families informed of important things for which we can give God thanks and praise as well as school-related requests we can bring to God. The PRAY NOW page is updated each week and many parents and friends regularly read the updates and faithfully pray for our students, staff and community. This is a great way to unify our body and keep our prayers and praises before God.
