Drama

Drama

As one of the fine arts, drama is immediately associated with its final product: the performance.  At DCHS, we believe that what can be seen when the curtain rises is only part of a much bigger picture.  Drama is a powerful, brain-compatible learning medium, through which students are exposed to a wide range of learning opportunities in literature, history, and human relationships.  Students who study drama develop confidence, vocal delivery skills, and physical poise, all of which are beneficial wherever their future studies may take them.  Preparing a play also provides opportunities to learn teamwork, patience, time management and how to rise to a challenge.  All of this is accomplished in an atmosphere of creativity, mutual support and fun!

Our graduates say their involvement in plays make up some of their favorite memories of high school.  From casting to rehearsal to final performance, our goal is to teach students to honor God with all of their talents. Highlands Ranch organizes and performs several plays or musicals each year.
