SCRIP - Tuition-reducing Program
Denver Christian Schools offers a great opportunity for families to reduce their tuition fees through SCRIP, a tuition-reducing program used by many private schools across the United States. Denver Christian Schools has successfully provided this unique tuition-reduction opportunity since 1995.
What is Scrip?
Scrip
is a term that means "Substitute Money". When you purchase scrip,
you’re purchasing gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just
like cash. You can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food,
gas, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn
revenue toward your tuition account. To learn more about the Scrip program click HERE.Start Shopping

Denver Christian Schools offers a great opportunity for families to reduce their tuition fees through SCRIP, a tuition-reducing program used by many private schools across the United States. Denver Christian Schools has successfully provided this unique tuition-reduction opportunity since 1995.
The way it works is simple: the school purchases gifts certificates from a national broker and local businesses at a discount, and then resells them to families at face value. The ‘profit’ earned is used to reduce tuition, costs for the families that purchased the certificates, while 1% is kept by the organization as a fee for running the program. For example, if you purchase $100 of King Soopers gift cards, $4.00 goes into your tuition account while $1.00 goes towards the program.
You can lower your tuition without spending any more than what you are spending now. It’s that simple. Prepaid orders from the new on-line program are processed on Wednesdays and available to pick up the following Wednesday at each campus.
King Soopers, Safeway, Sunflower, Starbucks, Chili’s and Chipotle are available everyday at all campuses as Cash and Carry. This means you will bring a check made payable to Denver Christian Schools and take your certificates home immediately. (NOTE: If you order these Cash and Carry cards along with your weekly order, you will receive these cards on the next Wednesday). Keep in mind that the more often you purchase these certificates, the more money you save!
Whether you are a current family, a future family or a DCS supporter, you can participate in this great way to save money for yourself or for others! DCS parents receive the immediate benefit from this program while future parents planning to send their child(ren) to DCS can begin to build up a fund. Any future monies earned are held by the SCRIP program and then credited as a tuition payment when their child is enrolled at Denver Christian Schools.

Presto-Pay is a convenient way to pay on-line when you place your orders, instead of having to bring a check to school. ShopWithScrip will accept the payment on behalf of Denver Christian on Wednesday mornings. GLSC will immediately debit your checking account for the face value amount of your order, plus a convenience fee of $.39. Presto-Pay can NOT be paid with credit cards, but only with your checking or debit account from your bank. All Cash and Carry will be available every day at each campus.
POLICIES & PROCEDURES
- SCRIP orders are processed weekly on Wednesdays, except in the summer, when we process on a bi-weekly basis. A summer schedule will be published.
- The credit earned in each current family account will be held by the SCRIP program and applied to tuition accounts periodically throughout the year, specific dates to be determined by the SCRIP committee. A statement of purchases and credits earned will be sent to all participants. All discrepancies must be brought to the attention of the SCRIP coordinator.
- Denver Christian Schools offers SCRIP as a tuition reduction program only for students at DCS, therefore, the money collected on your Family Account will only be paid to DCS for tuition reduction for grades Pre-School-12. If your child(ren) no longer attend DCS for any reason, the monies held under your Family Number can be (1) Credited to another family’s tuition; or (2) Credited to the General Tuition Assistance Fund. No refund will be issued.
- A “Disclaimer of Responsibility Form” must be signed for certificates to be released to your student. Your child can only receive your order.
- Drop off/pick-up sites (you may choose where to do your SCRIP business):
• Highlands Ranch
• Van Dellen
• Pearl Street
You can place an on-line order at any time but keep in mind the orders are processed each Wednesday at 9 a.m. Please bring your check to a campus with your order confirmation sheet. These orders will be available for pick up after 7:45 the next Wednesday at each campus. - Gift certificates are just like cash. Once your order is picked from your campus, you or your child are responsible for lost, stolen, or misplaced certificates. Neither Denver Christian Schools nor the SCRIP program will be held responsible.
- Gifts cards have varying expiration dates from 3 months to 1 or 2 years, to with no expiration date at all. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to keep track of the expiration dates of the certificates. See the back of the cards for more details. Please note: it is not the responsibility of either Denver Christian Schools or SCRIP if an error is made in ordering. You must take what you ordered, so please double check your order.
- In case a store closes and you have unused gift cards
or certificates, it is not the responsibility of DCS or the SCRIP
program to refund you.

AN UPDATE ON SCRIP! Wow, did you know that last weeks order saved over $500 on DC tuition. Since I am new to this, I was a little blown away. And I have been told just wait for our big Christmas orders. This is Great! Our online service is 100% on a roll. If you have already registered your family and browsed or bought on-line - Great. Please send me your concerns and questions so we can get this working great for all of us. If you have not registered your family yet... Please do. There are hundreds of options on-line for you to choose from and you could really make a dent in your tuition bill with just some of the normal shopping you do anyway. |
We are highly encouraging online ordering - it makes it a snap for us with less chances of a mistakes. But if the computer scares you, the envelopes have changed to a paper order sheet. Please fill it out and leave it at school with your check. Note: all orders (paper and online) will not be processed without a payment at that time. And all orders and all payments need to be submitted by 9am on Wednesdays to be processed for pick-up the next Wednesday. You are welcome to turn in an order anytime before then to have it processed that next Wednesday.
If you find that ShopwithScrip says you already have an account. That is because you have submitted an envelope in the last few weeks and I had to give you an account. Your account name is your first and last name together (i.e. wendivanwoerkom), and the password is "dc". Once you log in, you will be able to change your password and other information.
